BBC and Timberland Colab on Boot Design?

red timbs

Well, it looks like Billionaire Boys Club and Timberland have a new collaboration on the way.

The streetwear brand posted a photo of a pair of all red six-inch boots on Instagram. The caption reads: “SAMPLE cc: @timberland #BillionaireDevelopment.”

This past summer, Pharrell was seen wearing a pair of red Timbs. In August, he even put this up on his Instagram account with the caption, “1 of 1…well…for now that is. #beeline #timberland @bbcicecream”:

Guess they’re not “1 of 1” anymore?

No word yet on pricing or release date, but stay tuned.

You’re an artist, you want to succeed, you recorded music.  What do you do next?

Below is a blueprint that, if you apply over the next year to six months, should increase your chances of success.  Some of you may already be doing/have done many of these things, and should start where it makes sense.  Others may need to start at step one.

The goal is to encourage you to measure and track your activity with respect to reaching fans so you can better define what is working, and (equally importantly) stop doing what’s not working.  To do this, you’ll need a Dashboard.  I’d suggest using an excel spreadsheet or Google doc that has weeks across the top, and the categories you’re measuring on the side (the vertical axis). We’ve supplied a sample spreadsheet for you to view/use here. Please do hover over the cells in the sample we’ve created, as there are explanations for many of the elements.

Pharrell Named GQ’s 2013 Hitmaker of the Year

pharrell fohtaAlthough their distinction bestowed onto Kendrick Lamar didn’t go over well, GQ is keeping their music awards going and as they have named Pharrell Williams Hitmaker of the Year for 2013.

The selection–while well deserved–should come as a no-brainer due to Pharrell’s ubiquity on the radio this year.

Earlier in the year, Pharrell helped Robin Thicke deliver the song of his career with “Blurred Lines,” as it received a record-breaking 228.9 million impressions for a single week. Shortly thereafter, the superproducer linked up with house music duo, Daft Punk for the commercial breakout, “Get Lucky.” Both records have been certified multi-platinum at 6x and 7x, respectively.

Williams also lended his magic touch to Jay Z’s Magna Carta Holy Grail which was dubbed platinum the first day of its release. GQ has maintained a healthy relationship with Hip-Hop artists for some time now and for his celebratory photo shoot, the magazine laced The Neptune in Gucci, Chanel for men, Audemars Piguet as well as his own Billionaire Boys Club.
