Atlanta based rap duo Earthgang is a breath of fresh air when describing their music. The group consists of members Doctur Dot (pictured on above on the left) and Johnny Venus (pictured above on the right). They have a gritty, raw, southern rap style that is reminiscent of the 90’s Southerplayalisticadillacmuzik/ Goodie Mob era. Their latest 16 track album Shallow Graves For Toys accurately displays their versatility as emcees on production that ranges from eclectic to base heavy 808’s. Peep a few of their tracks after the jump.
Music industry tycoon and self proclaimed Lifestyle Specialist Kenny Burns released his first book titled The Dream is Real. In this book, Burns details his path from local Atlanta party promoter to becoming an influential staple in pop culture. Burns decided to go the independent route and released the paper back cover via his website Studio43.com. Downloads are also available for Kindle and Nook. The Dream is Real goes more into detail about his career path than his 2010 documentary B.U.R.N.S. (Be Ultimately Realistic But Never Sellout) which he premiered at the American Black Film Festival. Burns elaborates on real life incidents he encountered with P. Diddy, Damon Dash, and Mariah Carey. In the book, Burn explains how these incidents helped shape him into the mogul he is today. He talks about how his hard work, consistency, and always staying true to himself ultimately created relationships with music industry heavy hitters like Andre Harrell.

The fixed-gear bicycle has become the main source of transportation for hipsters. Continue reading
In previous times a “hipster” was considered an outcast, or just plain weird. These free thinkers and their edgy style of dress was often shunned by the mainstream audience. Even though they often push the culture forward and are ahead of the masses when it comes to music, style, and lifestyle trends, hipsters were rarely accepted in many social settings. It is ironic how the mainstream has suddenly adapted to many aspects of the hipster lifestyle however. How about Ray Banz or oversized vintage frames? Skinny jeans? Thrift shops are now considered “cool”? The resurgence of vinyl sales? We’ve been doing that! Continue reading
